Accredited practising dietitian

Mary-Anne Chamoun

Mary-Anne is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Accredited Nutritionist who has been in clinical practice since 2007. She has a particular interest in diabetes and all associated conditions including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and insulin resistance. She has also completed the Monash University FODMAP Diet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) course to tackle this growing and often confusing area. She will be able to provide guidance for following a low FODMAP baseline diet, ensued by systematic ‘challenges’ to assess whether IBS symptoms are sensitive to FODMAPs. This will therefore help to determine food choices and  tolerance thresholds.

Being a mother of 3 children, she strongly emphasises the need to be creating lifestyle habits that will last a lifetime. She also understands the frustrations when dealing with fussy eaters and challenging behaviour (e.g. autism and ADHD). Mary-Anne has also seen an increase in children’s obesity, where parents are so confused about lunchbox snacks and children’s portion sizes. Her experience as a dietitian and mother will ensure optimal children’s nutritional status.

Mary-Anne now consults out of Milsons Point Medical Centre, offering her Dietetics services to the Milsons Point, Kirribilli, McMahons Point, North Sydney, Wynyard, Crows Nest, Waverton, Neutral Bay, and Mosman communities.
